Embedded Systems

Designing, assembling, and programming custom-purpose projects using RFID, proximity sensors, photo resistors, Bluetooth modules
(hc-06), WiFi modules (ESP8266), and more.

Control Systems

Tailoring control systems to meet specific project needs with the application of automatic control theory to design systems with desired behaviors.

Cyber Security

Increasing the success of control and embedded systems through the utilization of proactive and counter-measured network forensics and security.

ESP8266 project

This project uses an ESP8266 Wi-Fi controller to take information from a proximity sensor and use the website IFTTT to send a text-message notification that the sensor has been tripped.  An Arduino Mega 2560 has been programmed to run a “Knight Rider” LED strip.

Long-Range Wireless motion alarm

A long-range transmitter and receiver were coupled with a proximity sensor, alarm, and Arduino Nano to produce a driveway alert system.

HC-06 Bluetooth controlling PIR trigger light

A PIR sensor and hc-06 Bluetooth module programmed via an Arduino Uno to control a light source.  This deceptively simple IOT setup demonstrates skill with various components and control modules.
